Fun in Apgujeong

After our Korean classes the other night, Lee and I explored Apgujeong. It's always a nice stroll at night.
We found a party supply store (very rare in Korea!) with some sweet masks:
Obama and the BuddhaTrollin'

Also, there's a great little food store with loads of foreign groceries. Including Prego sauce for $2 and weetabix cereal!

You can find the party supply shop and "sweet space" here on Google Maps. They're near Gangnam-gu Office.

Passion 5

If you're feeling fancy, treat yourselves to a dinner, coffee, baked goods, dessert, or chocolate truffles at Passion 5. It's located near Hangangjin station (한강진역) by Itaewon. The place is made of shiny black glass, and has an enormous chandelier hanging in th middle of the courtyard. It isn't cheap, but the quality of food and service is pretty amazing.

Fabric Shopping

Went shopping for bulk fabric to make curtains, and to help some friends create a giant projection surface. Got a recommendation from my friend Jamie to check out Dondaemun Shopoing Town. I had been before to do yarn shopping in the basement with some people, but I didn't know about the other five floors! They have every type of textile available. Too much. Some stalls will sew up your curtains or whatever, right on the spot. In addition to yarn and fabric, they also have buttons, zippers, and anything else you need to construct clothing, knits and curtains.
Go to Dongdaemun station (line 1 and 4) and go out exit 9. Building is right there, between exits 9 and 8. signs will confirm the identity. See location of this post for a map. Good luck.

D Cube City

D Cube city had a grand opening today! It's pretty fancy and big; not too useful yet. No movie theater, either. But it's right across the street and we're excited! More photos after the jump:
